Happy 2018!!

Colourful like the rainbow and brilliant like the sun. Fragrant as roses and filled with cheer and fun! HAPPY 2018, but first let's take a look back at the trends and what we loved from this past year.

There were many changes for us this past year. We scaled back down to one location to manage our growing family. We said good bye to this beautiful space on Dundas West where we hosted plenty of workshops and worked on some of our bigger events. It also housed the overfill of plants from our other location, so I'll miss the random calls we get about the big cacti in the window!

Our biggest news: We welcomed our baby boy Ellis Redding in November!
And our staff grew this year too!

Speaking to design: Dutch design was ever popular this past year. Here was one of my favourite designs showcasing this bloom heavy and garden-inspired style.

We welcomed colour with open arms this year! We played with colours and named this popular pastel combination "Unicorn."

We continued to experiment with unusual colour and flower combinations through the year.

And we're pleased to report that the use of unusual colour combinations and brighter palettes are on trend going into 2018. We couldn't be happier to continue using more and more colour in the coming seasons!

Flower crowns were still popular; requested at nearly every event we did this year!
Everyone wanted to wear flowers!

Flower bars or market displays were also a hot item at events, where guests were invited to create their very own take-away bouquet!

Flowers everywhere! It seemed like we were decorating everyone, anything and everything with blooms this past year!

We drew inspiration from our venues, including colour palette, decor, and quite literally the wallpaper. There is inspiration everywhere and cohesion of floral design with the venue was one of my favourite parts of planning events this past year.

We set a goal to do one creative project a week. Allowing ourselves complete creative freedom. Spring through to Autumn, a lot of local flowers were showcased in our designs, as we love supporting local growers and sharing our love for local flowers. We pushed local as much as we could!

Another year of Botany Bundles. These cute little bundles will continue to be available in store each week. Be sure to check our Instagram @botanybundles where we post a picture of the weekly-inspired bouquet.

In the height of summer, we gathered staff past and present for a wedding on Lake Rosseau. Flowers by boat and a lakeside setting was dreamy. Spending the time working and playing with staff in the Muskokas was a dream come true!

Whether you want some flowers for your hair or it's as simple as picking out a few stems to brighten someone's day, know that we are passionate about every occasion. Thanks to you all and my lovely staff too, who make life beautiful and who allow me to create.
Looking forward to the year ahead!
